Your boss is a lousy coach. It culminates in your boss not helping you grow. There are three key reasons: 1. You are smart. You know more than the boss: You are a knowledge worker, who already knows ten times more about what you are doing than the executive does.
You can't always pick your boss, but you can be proactive as to how you get what you need from your boss. Coaching language works in all directions! Thanks for posting!!

What I continually appreciate about your ideas, insights and steps Marshall is how hidden in plain sight smart, wise AND especially doable they are. You truly have a gift for using “experience near” language that is easy to see and experience with our mind’s eye. So much easier than “experience distant” language that one has to think about and often look up terms to understand which can interrupt the flow of learning. Thank you again.
